🔥 Phoenix — Our Wild Heart
Phoenix is the last of our rescued mustangs, and she has stayed true to her independent, free-spirited nature. While she now wears a halter and allows handling, she’s not yet fully comfortable giving her head or fully trusting human guidance. Even so, she’s made remarkable progress—she can be tied, brushed, have her feet picked, and even stand for the farrier.
Phoenix will need an adopter with extensive horse experience, deep patience, and a gentle hand—someone who understands the language of a mustang and is willing to earn her trust one quiet moment at a time. With the right person, we believe Phoenix will blossom into the incredible partner we all know she can be. She’s on the verge of turning that corner, and when she does, it will be nothing short of magic.

Sully joined Pride and Joy Rescue from a fellow rescuer who knew he needed a place that could give him more than just shelter — a place that could give him understanding. At only four years old, Sully was diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes, making the world a little hazy but never dimming his spirit.
From the moment he arrived, Sully has shown a calm, trusting nature that captures hearts instantly. He quickly bonded with Flower, another horse with limited eyesight, and the two now navigate their days side by side — proving that true friendship doesn’t need sight, only connection.
Though his vision may be clouded, Sully sees life through a lens of peace and quiet courage. He’s a gentle reminder that resilience comes in many forms — and that love and safety can turn even the hardest beginnings into something beautiful.

Cash is a handsome Tennessee Walking Horse who recently arrived at Pride & Joy Rescue looking for a soft place to land. His previous owner made the difficult but loving decision to seek specialized care for him after he developed glaucoma in one eye, ensuring he would have the support needed to maintain his comfort and quality of life.
Despite his vision challenges, Cash has settled in well and quickly proven himself to be a gentle giant with a kind heart. His calm demeanor and sweet personality have already made him a favorite among volunteers and staff.
Cash is currently following a treatment plan for his glaucoma and will be evaluated by our veterinarian to determine the best long-term care options moving forward. Our goal is to keep him comfortable, happy, and thriving while we learn more about his needs.
At Pride & Joy Rescue, we believe that special-needs horses deserve the same chance at a safe and fulfilling life as any other horse. Cash is a perfect example of how a little extra care and compassion can make all the difference.
We are honored to be part of Cash's journey and look forward to sharing updates as he settles into rescue life.
Welcome to the Pride & Joy family, Cash! ❤️ 🐴
"Sometimes the greatest act of love is knowing when to ask for help. Cash's story begins with that gift."

Toby is one of the newest members of the Pride & Joy Rescue family, and while his story began with hardship, his future is filled with hope.
This sweet boy arrived at rescue after spending 30 days in quarantine, where he patiently waited for a second chance. Toby is completely blind, and from initial observation, one of his eyes may require removal. Despite the challenges he has faced, Toby has shown us nothing but kindness, trust, and a gentle spirit.
It would be easy for Toby to be fearful of the world around him, but instead he greets life with courage. He relies on his other senses to navigate his surroundings and quickly forms bonds with the people who take the time to earn his trust. His willingness to connect despite everything he has endured is truly remarkable.
Toby is currently settling into rescue life and will undergo a full veterinary evaluation to determine the best path forward for his eye care and overall health. As we learn more about his needs, we will ensure he receives the medical attention, patience, and understanding he deserves.
At Pride & Joy Rescue, we believe every animal deserves a chance, regardless of age, medical needs, or disability. Toby reminds us that vision is not measured by what we can see with our eyes, but by the heart we carry within us.
We are honored to be part of Toby's journey and cannot wait to watch him discover that life can be safe, comfortable, and full of love.
Welcome home, Toby. ❤️🐴
