🕊️ The “Forty” Program — Honoring Our Seniors
The “Forty” Program was created in honor of 40, a gentle soul who came to Pride & Joy Rescue underweight and struggling, yet full of quiet strength. From the moment he arrived, he captured the hearts of everyone at the rescue. Our team—Connie, Rob, Ashlee, and Rainey—stood by his side through every step of his journey, fighting with him and for him until the day he let us know he was ready to rest.
40 passed peacefully in the barn, surrounded by his herd and held with love. His grace, resilience, and trust left an imprint on all of us. To this day, his tail rests in Connie’s office—a symbol of his spirit and the compassion that drives our mission.
In his memory, the “Forty” Program continues to provide specialized care for senior horses who deserve comfort, dignity, and love in their golden years. Each year, the rescue commits to taking in at least one senior horse who is significantly underweight and working patiently to restore their health. This process requires a tremendous amount of hay, grain, and supplemental forage, along with dedicated care and time.
This vital program gives senior horses a chance to regain strength, peace, and trust—reminding us all that every life, no matter how old or fragile, is worth saving.

💫 The “2nd Chance” Program — In Memory of Chance
The “2nd Chance” Program was created in memory of Chance, an extremely ill foal surrendered to Pride & Joy Rescue. Born blind, malnourished, and suffering from failure to thrive due to a lack of colostrum after birth, Chance faced unimaginable odds from his first day. During his four days with us, he received constant, around-the-clock care—bottle feedings, temperature checks, and continuous monitoring both in person and through cameras.
Though his time was short, Chance’s spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who cared for him. His determination, spark, and trust inspired a program dedicated to giving other fragile foals a soft landing and a fighting chance at life.
Through the “2nd Chance” Program, we provide intensive care, medical treatment, and nutrition to foals who arrive sick, orphaned, or malnourished. These cases require immense dedication, resources, and funding, but every life we touch reminds us why we do what we do—to ensure that every baby born into struggle knows love, comfort, and compassion from the very start.
💕 Adoption & Foster Program
We match rescued horses and farm animals with loving homes through a careful adoption process. Each animal receives medical care, training, and evaluation before placement to ensure lifelong success. Our foster program allows caring individuals to temporarily house and rehabilitate animals in need.

🐴 Education & Volunteer Program
Through community involvement and hands-on experiences, volunteers of all ages learn about animal care, trust-building, and responsible ownership. From youth mentorship to barn chores, every volunteer plays a vital role in the animals’ healing journey.

🌈 Rainbow Bridge Memorial Program
We honor the animals who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge by sharing their stories and celebrating the lessons they’ve left behind. Their memory continues to inspire the heart and purpose of our rescue. From youth mentorship to barn chores, every volunteer plays a vital role in the animals’ healing journey.
Your support and contributions make all of this possible. Every donation helps us sustain vital programs like the “Forty” , “2nd Chance” along with our youth initiatives and allows us to grow new programs that fill urgent needs within our community. Together, we can continue giving horses and farm animals the second chance—and the love—they deserve.
